Bas was a competitor for the 'furthest traveled with Mini' at the IMM'99 and 40th celebration back in 1999.
In order to get his Mini here, he had to ship it in a container;
Mini Team Bonaire
As the event was getting closer 'Mini Team Bonaire' was
gearing up; Jan-Willem is making
sure of that :)
Here is the scoop on a newspaper-article that came out on Bonaire.
The Team now consisted of 3 Mini's with Bas, his girlfriend Carmen, his brother Jan-Willem and wife Yvette and Inmar :)
Here are some pix of the three MTB Mini's;
a 1982 Austin Mini 1000 HLE (the blue with white roof)
a 1972 Morris Mini Pick Up 850 (the blue with picnic-table-cover)
a 1991 Austin Mini Cooper S 1300 (racing green with white roof)
Obviously this trip was somewhat costly, but he was lucky enough to find some sponsors for it.
Be sure to visit them all and shake their hand.
