If you ever want to remove yourself from this mailing list, you can send mail to "majordomo@autox.team.net" with the following command in the body of your email message: unsubscribe mini-list loginname@netaddress or unsubscribe mini-list-digest loginname@netaddress Here's the general information for the list you've subscribed to, in case you don't already have it: Frequently Asked Questions: Q: So just what the heck is mini-list? eh: It's kind of the Mini World of the Net, except more objective and timely but without the pretty pictures. Q: Whadda you guys talk about? eh: Repairs, restoration, driving, tyres, racing, sources of parts, reviews of commercial outlets, quality of brands, diagnosis of problems, Mini meets, you name it. And we don't restrict discussion, if you feel the need to slag a supplier for giving you the run-around, let fly. Hey, we have to deal with those same suppliers too you know! And the discussion is not limited to mundane technical stuff either. Let's face it, the Mini is a cult car, so sometimes the discussion tries to figure this out too. No luck yet... Q: I'm a scum sucking money grubber with a sleazy business. Mind if I advertise? eh: We don't allow any commercial advertising, but individuals are welcome to offer bit-n-pieces they have an excess of. There's always someone in need of things. Q: WOW! Miniacs can talk your ear off, what kind of traffic can I expect? eh: With about 550 people on the list, 75% of which are lurkers, you can expect possibly 25 messages on a good day. These things tend to go in waves too, so you may get very little for a while, then a juicy topic comes up.... If that volume is too much, or if you're on a work account and want to keep your job :-) you can subscribe to the digest version as described below. The digest is released every day or so and contains all the discussions since the last digest. Q: What kind of Miniac is on this list? eh: Miniacs from all over the world: North America, UK, Australia, Italy, Netherlands, South Africa, Japan.... and growing! Racers, rallyists, restorers and drivers (and, yes, a few non-Mini owners!). In general these Miniacs represent the most educated, best looking and reproductively successful cross section of the world's population. They're all above average. Q: Which Einstein beat Mini World to the punch and started this list?? eh: The Mini list was the brain child of John Bullas in the UK ('el presidente grande: Peak District MOC ) and Marcel Chichak (chichm@planet.eon.net) in Canada (MINIster of Transport: Edmonton MOC). The list is now being served from a reliable server in Utah, USA. Any contributions in the form of jelly babies will be gratefully gobbled. Slug mail address listed in Mini World under Canada. Please send club newsletter as compensation for all the hard work Marcel has to do to keep this list going. Q: How do I get on the list? eh: To subscribe, send an email to: majordomo@autox.team.net (subject line is ignored) in the first message line type: subscribe mini-list loginname@netaddress or if you want to subscribe to the digest version of the list, as above but: subscribe mini-list-digest loginname@netaddress Anything else?
